Tease: Coming up in ___________ minutes, is everything at the grocery store getting more expensive?

If it seems to you like everything is more expensive at the grocery store lately, you’re right. Grocery prices have skyrocketed during the coronavirus pandemic. Since February meat and poultry prices rose 11%, and beef and veal spiked to 20%. Staples went up as well, egg prices shot up 10% and cereals and fresh vegetables went up 4%. The pandemic is to blame for causing a surge in demand with Americans staying home and also negatively impacted the supply chain. So I guess I’m not the only one who goes to the store, spends a hundred bucks and feels like I only got a couple things. (Additional out) I just assumed the grocery bill went up because I’m eating twenty percent more lately.

Tease: In ___ minutes, the FBI raids this YouTube celebrity's house

FBI agents executed a federal search warrant at YouTube celebrity Jake Paul’s house. The FBI raided Paul’s enormous home in Calabasas, California in connection with an ongoing investigation, but the FBI is prohibited from commenting on the nature of the investigation. Last year Jake Paul was one of Forbes’ highest-earning YouTubers, bringing in an estimated $25.5 million. Which I’m sure he spent responsibly. (Additional out) If you don’t know who he is or what he looks like, just picture that guy from high school that was rude to everybody.

Tease: Coming up at ____, the NBA bubble is working

For the third consecutive week, no NBA players have tested positive for Covid-19, proving that the NBA bubble is working. In the latest round of precautionary measures, 343 players were tested inside the Disney Campus near Orlanda, Florida. So far, no player has tested positive inside the bubble since initial testing began a month ago. Now if only the rest of us could afford to live in a bubble, eat catered meals and get to play ping pong with our buddies. (Additional Out) So we’ll at least have one sport for a while longer.

Tease: Comedy Central is rebooting another early 90s cartoon. I’ll tell you more in _____ minutes

Ren & Stimpy is getting a reboot. Comedy Central announced yesterday that they are reimagining the 90s cult animated series, just a month after announcing they’ll reboot Beavis & Butthead. The original Ren & Stimpy centered on the exploits of a dog and cat duo and ran on Nickelodeon and MTV from 1991 to 1996. But, it’s dark humor and themes caused many to consider it more of an adult series than a children’s show. No date has been announced for the new show’s debut. So prepare to have the ‘Happy Happy Joy Joy’ song stuck in your head again. (Additional out) I guess they’ve officially gotten to the bottom of the barrel for 90’s reboots.

Phone Topic/Web Poll: Elon Musk says that artificial intelligence will overtake humans within the next five years. In an interview with the New York Times the billionaire said “We’re headed toward a situation where A.I. is vastly smarter than humans and I think the tie frame is less than five years now.” Musk has long said that we should figure out safety measures for A.I. before it gets smarter than us. Is Elon Musk right, will A.I. be smarter than humans in 5 years?
