My 2026 Goals By Andy Meadows

Besides adjusting to writing the new year correctly, something that is less of an issue now that nobody writes checks, this is also a time of year where we all collectively think about what we plan to accomplish in the new year. Ever since I saw a TAB panel a few years ago where John Moesch (West Texas Radio Group) shared how he does his goals, personal-professional-team, I’ve stolen his approach and used it myself. With that in mind, here are my 2026 goals. Please share a few of your own in the comments or via email.

Personal: My New Year’s resolution is to be more present outside of work. Like many of you I’m sure, I have a tendency to hyper-focus on work and have a tough time leaving it at the door. Especially now that I work with more stations across the country. Although to be honest I have a tendency to obsess whether I have one client or twenty. So, this year my personal goal is to try and do a better job shutting that off so I can be more in the moment with the wife and kids when I’m not working. So far, I’d give myself a solid B, but it’s an adjustment I’ll hopefully improve on as I learn to not look at my phone as often.

Professional: Every one of us, myself included, go into every year with the high hopes of increasing our revenue at a higher percentage then we did the year before. Something that’s obviously getting increasingly tougher in our industry. This year, my hope is to do that by making a concerted effort to continue being open to new technology, new approaches and new opportunities. Any of us who have been in this business for decades struggle with getting out of our comfort zone and trying something that we’ve done the same way a million times differently. However, as we are now running out of time to transition our industry it’s important that we all assess everything we do, how we do it and whether there are new ways to do it more effectively and efficiently. If I can do a better job of that myself, that puts me in a better position to help others do the same.

Team: As somewhat of a solopreneur, I don’t have a team around me in a traditional sense. However, I do have incredible part-timers that work for me at RSC and Radio Update, some very talented Radio Resource colleagues and a long list of partners. Not to mention some amazing clients who have been with me for years. My team goal in 2026 is to make a concerted effort to better utilize that network, and their years of expertise, to better inform the decisions I make professionally this year.
