Tease: Coming up in ___________ minutes, Biden’s new number

President Biden has urged Democrats to shoot for a range of $1.9 to $2.2 trillion to pair down the $3.5 trillion budget reconciliation plan and appease moderates. That likely means lots of cuts in proposed programs like free community college, universal pre-K and paid family leave. Or, lawmakers could choose to delay or truncate programs to lower the cost. Who cares about the price tag, its all Monopoly money at this point anyway. (Additional Out) As they work hard to find that sweet spot that won’t get them killed in the midterms.

Tease: In ______ minutes, the best restaurant in the world

Noma in Copenhagen, Denmark won the top spot at this year’s World’s 50 Best Restaurant Awards. Another Copenhagen restaurant, Geranium, took 2nd. Two restaurants in Lima Peru made the top 10 this year. Overall, six American restaurants made the top 50, three in New York and three in California. Good luck getting a reservation at any of those six anytime soon. (Additional Out) When I was a kid I thought Red Lobster was the nicest restaurant on the planet, I kind of miss those days.

Tease: Coming up at _____, what the Facebook whistleblower told the Senate

Facebook harms children, stokes division and weakens our democracy. That’s what Frances Haugen, the Facebook whistleblower, told a Senate subcommittee yesterday in a highly anticipated hearing. Haugen also claimed that Facebook knows how to make its product safer, but chooses not to in favor of profit. What? A big tech company choosing money over safety, stop the presses. (Additional out) Republicans and Democrats finally agree on something, their hatred for Facebook.

Tease: In _____ minutes, we have a new entry for dumbest criminal of the year

If you’re selling catalytic converters online, you probably shouldn't include meth in the photo. That’s exactly what a Missouri man did, leading to his inevitable arrest. On Facebook Marketplace he posted a photo of a catalytic converter and in the background you can clearly see a bag of meth, a large spoon, a syringe and a scale. Maybe he was selling the meth and forgot to hide the catalytic converter. (Additional out) I’m assuming he sold the catalytic converter with the side of meth in roughly ten seconds.
