Tease: Coming up in ___________ minutes, Chappelle’s Netflix request

Netflix has removed ‘Chappelle Show’ from their service at Dave Chappelle’s request. The comedian opened up about the move he requested in an Instagram video where he acknowledged that the contract he signed with ViacomCBS allows for his show to stream without additional payment to him. He takes issue with that approach and asked the streaming service he’s partnered with on all of his recent comedy specials to remove it and Netflix complied. Just goes to show you the power of social media when you’re famous and hilarious. (Additional out) Well done Netflix, just for that I’m going to stop sharing my account with my entire extended family.

Tease: In ______ minutes, good and bad Covid news

The US could start distributing doses of a Covid-19 vaccine soon after December 10th according to the Health and Human Services Secretary. Sadly though, the US hit another record number of hospitalizations and deaths yesterday. Plus, with millions ignoring guidelines against holiday travel, some health experts are calling Thanksgiving the ‘Mother of all super-spreader events.’  A title usually reserved for White House Rose Garden Ceremonies. (Additional out) Which is why I’ve chosen to let my family share their disappointment with me via Zoom this year.

Tease: Coming up at _____, the Grammy nominations were announced and this superstar leads the pack

Grammy nominations were announced yesterday and Beyonce leads the nominees with nine. Behind Queen Bey, Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa and Roddy Rich all had six nominations each. Ingrid Andress and Miranda Lambert lead on the country side. Go to our website to see the full list. The Daily Show’s Trevor Noah will host the 63rd annual Grammy Awards in late January. So remember to tune in or watch the recap of the three awards you care about the following day. (Additional Out) Featuring performances by a bunch of people your parents haven’t heard of.

Tease: In _____ minutes, we have a new second richest person in the world

Elon Musk has overtaken Bill Gates to become the second-richest person in the world. After a good day in the stock market caused Tesla’s share price to jump, Musk is now worth approximately $127.9 billion. That puts Elon Musk .2 billion ahead of the Microsoft founder but still over 54 billion behind Jeff Bezos, the world’s richest man. Who I will not speak ill of because I’m pretty sure Alexa is listening. (Additional Out) Coincidentally he’s still $127.899 billion ahead of me.

Phone Topic/Web Poll: Utah officials discovered a mysterious metal monolith in the desert. The twelve foot tall, three-sided metal object had been implanted into the ground in a remote part of the Utah desert and wildlife officials are unclear how or why it was placed there or who did it.
