Tease: Coming up in ___________ minutes, this state will recount by hand

Georgia will recount ballots by hand as requested by Trump campaign officials. Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, a Republican, made the announcement at a new conference in Atlanta. However, experts say the hand recount is unlikely to erase Biden’s 14,000 vote lead in the state as the average recount changes roughly 450 votes. Plus, this time they have to do it The Count from Sesame Street Style, “1 ah, ah, ah… 2 ah, ah, ah.” (Additional out) And being that they still haven’t finished the original count I’m guessing it’ll be a while.

Tease: In _____ minutes, facial recognition technology can now identify these animals

Researchers have developed facial recognition for bears. The technology can identify bears through features including their eyes, nose tip and ears. Ecologists are hopeful it will help them keep track of the size and activity of bear populations. And quickly catch any bears who turn to a life of crime. (Additional out) Which is way better than my idea, to just have them all wear name tags.

Tease: Coming up at ______, we break another covid record yesterday

The US recorded 144,000 new daily coronavirus cases yesterday, a new single day record. We also saw our highest daily death toll since early May. The CDC is now saying that not only can wearing a mask help protect others, it can also protect you. But, only if you wear it correctly over your mouth and nose and not like a chin diaper. (Additional out) Plus, it protects you from becoming famous on YouTube for all the wrong reasons.

Tease: In _____ minutes, Maren Morris wins big

Maren Morris took home three CMA’s last night including female vocalist of the year. Luke Combs also had a good night, walking away with male vocalist and album of the year. The coveted entertainer of the year award went to Eric Church. The night also featured a performance by pop star Justin Bieber. Which I’m sure made people on the internet angry for no reason. (Additional Out) Who knew the names of at least two of the other artists who were there.

Phone Topic/Web Poll: The upcoming “Genius Dog Challenge” will try to identify the world’s most intelligent dog. Researchers in Hungary are putting on the event that will feature 6 of the world’s smartest dogs trying to show whether they can learn the names of new objects. If you have a dog, do you think they are above average, average or below average intelligence wise? What makes you think that?
