About 185 million Americans could be fully vaccinated by September according to the latest vaccination models. That’s roughly 88% of the adult population, but health experts say it’s a race against time to fend off a winter surge caused by variants. So get your shots if you haven’t yet because I can’t spend another winter locked up with my family. (Additional out) And we’d all prefer not to run that race with masks on.

A hot pizza vending machine just debuted in Rome. The new ‘Mr. Go Pizza’ machine offers four different kinds of pizzas, the machine kneads and tops the dough and then slides out freshly cooked pizzas in just three minutes. The small pizzas cost between 5 and 7 and a half dollars. If you assume the locals hate it, then you’ve assumed correctly. (Additional Out) A small price to pay for robot pizza from the future.

Florida and Texas are trying to enact controversial voting laws. The Texas House moved a bill forward yesterday that would add new voting restrictions and penalties. Meanwhile Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a bill that includes stricter voter ID requirements for voting by mail and cut down the amount of ballot drop boxes. Florida was immediately hit with lawsuits. Always a good sign when you get sued the second you sign a bill. (Additional out) As state legislatures continue to try and solve pretend problems.

A disgusting new online trend has people eating rancid meat to get high. Vice reported on people eating cuts that have been left to rot for an extended period, dubbed ‘high meat’, to experience euphoria. Experts say this is incredibly dangerous and could lead to a whole host of health issues. Don’t google this and look at the pictures unless you plan on not eating anything today. (Additional out). It’s very sad that some people need an expert to tell them that.  

Phone Topic/Web Poll: This Sunday is Mother’s Day. According to the National Retail Federation Americans will spend over 28 billion on the holiday this year, a 1.4 billion increase from last year. Also, the average spending on Mother’s Day gifts is over $220. What do you think, what’s the appropriate amount to spend on a Mother’s Day gift?

[Contest setup] Though it appears to be falling out of favor among younger generations, a long running national survey shows that many parents still believe in spanking their kids. According to the survey, what percentage of Americans agreed that a ‘good, hard spanking’ is sometimes necessary to discipline a child?

C: 76%  

Answer: B, 66% of Americans believe that spanking is still necessary. I’m pretty sure that number was roughly 99% when I was growing up.
