Tease: Coming up in ___________ minutes, this just became the most attended sporting event in the US since the pandemic began

51,838 people were in attendance at the Kentucky Derby over the weekend, making it the most attended sporting event since the beginning of the pandemic. 3-year-old brown colt Medina Spirit won the Kentucky Derby despite having the sixth best odds to do so. Ensuring it will live a long life of being forced to mate with other horses while rich people watch. (Additional out) Proving once again my strategy of betting on the horse with the funniest name rarely works.

Tease: In ______ minutes, a shortage of this could impact your summer

A chlorine shortage could spell trouble for pool owners this summer. Chlorine supplies are running low due to a fire at a chemical plant in Louisiana last August that was damaged by Hurricane Laura. As a result, prices for chlorine tabs have skyrocketed. As we all know chlorine tabs are necessary to cover up for the fact that literally everyone pees in pools. (Additional Out) Reason number 1,001 not to own a pool.

Tease: Coming up at _____, this former NFL QB still runs a 4.72 40

Michael Vick runs a blazing fast 4.72 40-yard dash at 40 years old. The former NFL QB, and current NFL analyst, clocked the time over the weekend during Rich Eisen’s ‘Run Rich Run’ charity fundraiser. He was unhappy with the time because as a rookie Vick ran a 4.33 40, but even in retirement he’s still faster than a good portion of current NFL QBs. Like human statue Tom Brady. (Additional out) Apparently, running from his past as the ‘dog fighting guy’ has paid off.

Tease: In _____ minutes, this music legend’s catalog just sold for a quarter billion

Paul Simon’s song catalog has sold for $250 million. Forbes reported the sale calling it one of the industry’s largest publishing deals in recent years. The tunes include ‘Bridge over Troubled Water’ and ‘The Sound of Silence’. In total Paul Simon has written hundreds of tunes. Four of which people remember. (Additional out). Plus, he did it back when people still paid for music.
