Tease: Coming up in ___________ minutes, how many states have vaccinated at least half of their adult residents

At least 25 US states plus Washington DC have now fully vaccinated at least half of their adult residents. Plus, almost half of the US population has now gotten at least one shot. For the first time in a year the US is recording less than 30,000 new Covid-19 cases per day. Leading millions of Americans to regularly venture out of their homes for the first time in months, much to the dismay of dogs and the indifference of cats everywhere. (Additional Out) So suck on that variants, we’re gonna science the heck out of this.

Tease: In ______ minutes, this athlete just became the oldest guy to ever do this

Phil Mickelson became the oldest major champion in golf’s history yesterday. At 50 Phil won the PGA Championship adding another major and a new record to his storied career. With the win Mickelson surpassed Julius Boros, who won at 48 in 1968, to become the oldest major champion. Giving unrealistic hope to old guys everywhere that they’ve still got it. (Additional Out) Granted in 1968, 48 was more like 78 now.

Tease: Coming up at _____, this country just committed a state hijacking

Belarus forced a commercial airline to land, then arrested an opposition journalist onboard. Their government is facing international condemnation for the state hijacking after President Alexander Lukashenko ordered a fighter jet to escort a re-routed Ryanair flight carrying a leading opposition activist. Turns out having a dictator rule for 26 years isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. (Additional out) If you look out the right side of our plane you’ll see a fighter jet that’s threatening to blow us up.
