Tease: Coming up in ___________ minutes, this heavily anticipated movie comes out today

Coming 2 America is available to stream today on Amazon Prime. The follow up to the 1988 comedy classic features all the old faces and a few new ones. Eddie Murphy, Arsenio Hall, James Earl Jones, Louie Anderson and most of the old cast are back along with additions like Leslie Jones, Wesley Snipes, Jermaine Fowler and Tracy Morgan. Which is good because I think we could all use a trip to Zamunda right now. (Additional out) To celebrate the movie’s release I stuck my head out my window and cursed at all my neighbors this morning, they didn’t find the humor in it.

Tease: In ______ minutes, Amazon introduces ‘just walk out’ shopping

There’s no waiting to pay at Amazon’s first physical store outside the US because it doesn’t have a checkout line. The e-commerce giant opened a convenience grocery store in London yesterday that offers ‘just walk out’ shopping. Customers scan a QR code using the Amazon app when they arrive, bag the items they want to purchase and leave. That’s cool, but I’ll kind of miss waiting in the 15 items or less express line getting quietly furious at someone who has 17 items. (Additional out) So kleptomaniacs can get their fix without doing anything illegal.

Tease: Coming up at _____, good Covid news

After plateauing for a few weeks, the number of new Covid-19 cases have begun falling again in the US & worldwide. Health experts caution that it’s only a few days-worth of data. In the US, leaders and businesses are pushing back against a wave of eased restrictions, saying protections like masks are still essential. Basically, there’s light at the end of the tunnel but we’re still in the tunnel. (Additional out) Despite what you might read on Facebook comments.

Tease: In _____ minutes, some things to watch for in the sky this weekend

Jupiter and Mercury aligned in the sky today and an asteroid will flyby this weekend. According to NASA, this morning Mercury and Jupiter were in conjunction and appeared just above the horizon. Tonight Apophis, an asteroid that spans over 1,312 feet, will be closest to Earth around 8:15pm ET. Unlike the planet alignment the asteroid flyby will likely not be visible to the naked eye. So grab that telescope you bought and never used out of the attic and check it out. (Additional out) But don’t worry, it will be visible when it returns in 2029 to destroy us all.

Phone Topic/Web Poll: A guy went viral this week for demanding he get reimbursed for dates after a woman broke it off with him. The Wisconsin man wrote ‘Since you and I won’t be seeing each other anymore it’s only fair to ask for equal payment from you for the dates we went on.’ Adding ‘I believe it was 3 separate times we went out to bars/restaurants. I’d say $35 is more than fair.’ What do you think, is it OK to ask for bad date reimbursement?
