Tease: Coming up in ___________ minutes, good news about Tiger

Tiger Woods is recovering at home after his February crash. The golf legend tweeted yesterday ‘Happy to report that I am back home and continuing my recovery.’ Woods went on to thank fans for their support and the surgeons, doctors, nurses and staff that treated him. I’m assuming Tiger probably has a pretty good health care plan. (Additional out) That’s great, now let’s all leave him alone and obsess on other athletes for a while.

Tease: In ______ minutes, Trump speaks out on the vaccines

Donald Trump urged Americans to get the vaccines. In an interview on Fox News the former President called Covid vaccines ‘safe’ and ‘great’ and said ‘I would recommend it.’ Critics have recently called on Trump to encourage his supporters to get the vaccines to help the nation reach herd immunity. 92% of Democrats have gotten or want to get the vaccine, that number is only 50% among Republicans. Even though the virus doesn’t care about our political affiliations. (Additional out) Which is surprising since it was all of our tax dollars that funded it.

Tease: Coming up at _____, where to go to get an update if you haven’t received your stimulus check yet

The IRS have updated their ‘Get My Payment’ tool with information on the new Covid stimulus payments. Go to our website for the link. It will help you find out when your next stimulus payment is expected to hit your bank account or get mailed. Many Americans are expected to get their payments deposited today. Making for a nice little mid-week, Hump Day slash St. Patty’s day bonus. (Additional out) As if we needed another excuse to get boozed on St. Pattrick’s Day.

Tease: In _____ minutes, what scientists now believe may have sparked life on Earth

Millions of lightning strikes may have sparked life on Earth according to a new study. One of the key ingredients needed for life as we know it is phosphorous, and the multitude of lightning strikes that happened when Earth was young 4 billion years ago may have unlocked the necessary amount of phosphorous to create the foundation for life. Which is odd because my cousin Karl was struck by lightning and all it made him do was glow a bit every time someone used the microwave. (Additional out) So basically science says we were made the same way as most superheroes.

Phone Topic/Web Poll: Tinder announced this week that they’re about to introduce the ability to run criminal background checks on potential dates. Match Group, who owns Tinder, PlentyofFish, OkCupid and Hinge, is expected to roll out this new feature across all of its dating apps once it’s refined on Twitter. What do you think, should dating apps add criminal background checks?
