Tease: Coming up in ___________ good covid news on the one-year anniversary of the pandemic

An estimated 40% of Americans have some level of immunity to Covid-19. According to data scientists nearly 30% have now had the virus and about 18% have received at least one vaccine shot. Because of the overlap in those two groups, roughly 40% of us have some protection from the virus which is slowing down cases. And not a moment too soon, because I’m starting to look like Tom Hanks in Castaway. (Additional out) And all it took was a year of living like a recluse and quadrillions of dollars.

Tease: In ______ minutes, someone paid $51 million for this creepy mansion

Jeffrey Epstein’s Manhattan mansion was sold for approximately $51 million to an undisclosed buyer this week. Funds from the sale will benefit the Epstein Victim’s Compensation Progam. Epstein’s US Virgin Island properties may be sold as well to help pay victim’s fund. That’s got to be tough on the real estate agent, ‘just so you know the world’s most famous sex offender used to live here.’ (Additional out) Hopefully they give the buyers a ‘creep factor’ discount.

Tease: Coming up at _____, who will get the next stimulus check and when

Anyone who makes less than 80k per year will get a new stimulus check worth up to $1,400. The House passed the 1.9 trillion-dollar Covid relief bill yesterday after the Senate’s revisions, paving the way for President Biden to sign it into law later this week. The first checks should go out to those with direct deposit later this month. How are we paying for all of this you ask? Who cares, free money! (Additional out) To save time they can just send mine straight to Mastercard.

Tease: In _____ minutes, South Park’s new special makes fun of these conspiracy theorists

The new South Park special makes fun of QAnon and vaccine line cutters. Cartman weighed in on QAnon, ‘You guys have a right to say and believe whatever you want okay? But what you believe is really stupid.” The South ParQ: Vaccination Special aired last night on Comedy Central and opened with a disclaimer that took a shot at the disclaimers being added to classic films and shows recently. Its kind of sad that our best political commentary comes from an animated show featuring 9-year-olds. (Additional out) 24 years running and still the funniest show on TV.

Phone Topic/Web Poll: Pepperoni still reigns supreme. According to a new survey by Harris Poll, people are twice as likely to choose pepperoni over sausage or other topping options. Conversely, a poll last month found anchovies to be the least favorite topping. What do you think, what’s your favorite and least favorite pizza topping?
