Tease: Coming up in ___________ minutes, more Royal fallout

Buckingham Palace called Prince Harry and Meghan’s allegations of racism ‘concerning’. They broke their silence in a statement on behalf of the Queen adding that they were ‘saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan’. Also, British TV host Piers Morgan, who said he didn’t believe Meghan and walked out mid-show after his colleague didn’t agree with him, has resigned. Every once and awhile cancel culture gets one right. (Additional out) Shocking anyone who hasn’t watched him speak on TV for more than thirty seconds before.

Tease: In ______ minutes, this Marvel movie will finally come out in theaters in May

Black Widow will come out May 7th in theaters. The Disney CEO Bob Chapek confirmed that the heavily anticipated Marvel movie remains on the theatrical release calendar for May 7th. That’s almost exactly one year after it’s original May 1, 2020 release date. Which I’m assuming will be followed by the Hawkeye movie’s release straight to DVD. (Additional out) So let’s all hurry up and get vaccinated so they don’t move it again.

Tease: Coming up at _____, this college is paying its students not to go to Spring Break

UC Davis is offering students money to staycation for Spring Break. The University of California Davis hopes to incentive not travelling for Spring Break by paying students $75 to stay at home. In a Facebook post the school said, “Staying local is a good way to do your part in slowing the spread of COVID.” I see your $75 and I raise you a wet t-shirt contest and a handful of regrettable decisions. (Additional out) I assume they’re calling it their ‘stay home and get drunk on us’ policy.

Tease: In _____ minutes, what made it into the final stimulus bill

The 1.9 trillion dollar relief bill that’s expected to pass through the house today includes expanded unemployment and 1,400 checks to most Americans. Because the cutoff is $80k this time instead of $99k, 6.5 million Americans who got checks in the first two rounds will be left out. Also, Biden’s name will not be appearing on the stimulus checks. Press Secretary Jen Psaki (Sah-Kee) told reporters ‘this is not about him.’ Because we’re not in an election year. (Additional out) Personally, I don’t care who’s name is on it as long as it cashes.

Governor Greg Abbot announced he was loosening restrictions so ‘businesses and families in Texas have the freedom to determine their own destiny.’  What do you think, did Texas open up too early?
