Tease: Coming up in ___________ minutes, when this airline wants to resume supersonic flights

United Airlines plans to resume supersonic flights by 2029. The airline announced a deal to buy 15 supersonic jets. The plane, dubbed the ‘Overture’ is made by Boom Supersonic and will fly at Mach 1.7, roughly twice as fast as today’s commercial jets. That means it could fly from London to Newark, New Jersey in just three and a half hours. But why would anyone want to go to Newark, New Jersey. (Additional Out) So, still significantly slower than the Millennium Falcon, which I’ve heard made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs.

Tease: In ______ minutes, states leading and lagging in vaccinations

California, Maryland, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Hawaii and 6 other states have given 70% of residents at least one vaccine dose. But, other states are falling behind. At their current pace it will take Oklahoma, Louisiana and Wyoming 6 to 10 months to do so. While Mississippi and Alabama won’t hit 70% for a year or more at their current pace. Time to follow California’s lead and hand out some cash. (Additional Out) So they might want to pick up the pace because this isn’t a race you want to lose.

Tease: Coming up at _____, Facebook will no longer give these people special treatment

Facebook will no longer give politicians special treatment if their speech breaks its rules. The company’s rationale for the policy that will now end, held that the speech of political leaders is inherently newsworthy and in the public interest even if its offensive, bullying or controversial. But hopefully the rest of us can still exaggerate and pretend our lives are better than they are. (Additional out) But, that might be a slippery slope since anything you say now is likely to offend someone.

Tease: In _____ minutes, this fitness app is about to get cheaper for millions of people

Peleton’s app is getting cheaper for millions of people. The app that features thousands of instructor-led fitness classes normally costs $12.99 per month. But, Peleton is introducing pricing tiers to reduce the cost to $6.99 for students and $9.99 for teachers, military, healthcare workers, and first responders. Who deserve it after the year they’ve had. (Additional out) A small price to pay to have someone with 2% body fat yell at you to pedal faster.
