Tease: Coming up in ___________ minutes, more jobs than workers

The US Chamber of Commerce announced a nationwide initiative to address the worker shortage. The program aims to help people acquire skills needed for certain jobs. According to the organization there were a record 8.1 million job openings in the US in March 2021 and about half as many available workers across the country as there have been over the past 20 years. Makes sense, why work when you can just become an Instagram influencer or make your pet a YouTube star. (Additional Out) Granted we were still dealing with this whole pandemic thing in March.

Tease: In ______ minutes, Amazon announces the dates for this year’s Prime Day

The Amazon Prime Day sales event will be held June 21 and 22. The online retail giant will offer upwards of two million deals on products to Prime members this year, more than they’ve offered in previous years. Plus, members will get a $10 credit if they spend $10 at select small businesses between June 7th and June 20th. Its all part of Amazon’s ‘Pretend to care about the community’ initiative. (Additional Out) I will celebrate Prime Day the same way I do ever year, by getting hammered and buying a bunch of things I don’t need.

Tease: Coming up at _____, thousands of this health expert’s emails have been published

Thousands of emails to and from Dr. Anthony Fauci during the early days of the pandemic have been published by multiple news outlets. The emails reveal a truly grueling schedule and provide a glimpse into how quickly information evolved as the pandemic progressed. They also show Fauci’s polite, to-the-point demeanor. No word on whether he used any Fauci Facepalm memes in any of the emails. (Additional out) Basically while I binge-watched in sweatpants he worked 80 hours a week trying to save the world.

Tease: In _____ minutes, why LeBron is catching heat today

LeBron James is catching flack for leaving the blowout Lakers loss with over 5 minutes left in the game. Last night the Phoenix Suns put an absolute beatdown on the Anthony Davis-less Lakers, comfortably in the lead by over 30 points for much of the game. In the 4th quarter a frustrated LeBron could be seen walking off the court and headed towards the locker room. Hey I get it, you gotta beat traffic. (Additional out) Apparently, he found the game as hard to watch as the rest of us.

Phone Topic/Web Poll An insane video went viral on TikTok of a teen pushing a bear off her property to save her dogs. Hailey was just hanging out at home in California on Memorial Day when she noticed her dogs barking at something in the yard. That something turned out to be a bear and her cubs on their fence. In the video Hailey can be seen rushing over, pushing the bear off the wall, grabbing one of the pups and leading the rest back into the house. Would you jump between a bear and your dogs to save them and have you ever had a scary animal encounter?
