Defending champ Joey Chestnut devoured 76 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes to win the Nathan’s Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest yesterday. It was his 14th win in the past 15 years and Joey ate 26 more hotdogs then the 2nd place finisher, shattering his own world record. For both hot dogs and Tums. (Additional Out) So congrats Joey on winning a contest that should’ve stopped being a thing years ago.

Ocean City Maryland’s fireworks display accidentally exploded ahead of time. Employees of the fireworks company behind the city’s 4th celebrations received minor injuries after an unintentional discharge of fireworks while they were being set up. Our tax dollars hard at work. (Additional Out) You know we’ve regressed as a society when the CDC is having to warn people not to poop in the pool.
