Tease: Coming up in ___________ minutes, an Olympic update

US Swimmer Caleb Dressel took gold in the 100-meter freestyle. His teammate Bobby Finke got the win in the 800 meter for Team USA. Also, yesterday USA Women’s 3 on 3 basketball captured gold. Overall the US still leads the medal count, followed by China and the Russian Olympic Committee. Made up of all the Russian athletes who didn’t show up on doping day. (Additional Out) Maybe they should postpone every Olympics a year, because Team USA is cleaning up!

Tease: In ______ minutes, the Senate finally agrees on something

The Senate voted to take up a one trillion dollar bipartisan infrastructure bill, with 17 Republicans joining Democrats. If passed, the bill would include money for roads, bridges, broadband, electric charge stations, and more. Biden said ‘Neither side got everything they wanted, but that’s what it means to compromise.’ Basically, compromise means both sides are pissed off. (Additional Out) Reminds me of the tactic I used to use on my parents as a kid, ‘Can I borrow a $100?’ ‘WHAT?’ ‘Ok, fine $20.’

Tease: Coming up at _____, prices are going up for these popular kids toys

Barbie, Hotwheels and American Girl dolls are all going to get more expensive. Mattel, whose brands include Barbie, Hot Wheels, Fischer-Price and American Girl, says that higher prices are coming just in time for the holidays. The company blames ‘global supply chain challenges.’ Time to break out that childhood hot wheel (Barbie) collection and cash in on eBay. (Additional Out) Too bad I blew up most of my toys with firecrackers as a kid.

Tease: In _____ minutes, good news about this popular actor

Bob Odenkirk is going to be ok. The Better Call Saul star is reportedly in stable condition after collapsing on set. Odenkirk was shooting the sixth season of the Breaking Bad spin-off when the ‘heart-related incident’ occurred. In a statement the Odenkirks thanked the medical staff looking after the actor and fans for their outpouring of support. If you haven’t seen Bob Odenkirk as a certified beast in Nobody, rent it and strap in. (Additional out) You might remember Bob as one-half of Mr. Show if your parents sprang for HBO.
