Tease: Coming up in ___________ minutes, Space Jam delivers

Space Jam: A New Legacy topped the box office over the weekend bringing in an estimated 31.6 million in North America. The film starring LeBron James and the Looney Tunes crew exceeded the 20-million-dollar industry projections. Despite being widely panned by critics, currently a 31% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, Space Jam has an 81% audience score and an A- on CinemaScore. Proving my long-held theory, critics are dumb. (Additional Out) So we can expect at third one in another 25 years.

Tease: In ______ minutes, this US tennis star is out at the Olympics after a positive test

American tennis star Coco Gauff has tested positive for Covid-19 so she’ll miss the Tokyo Olympics. So far, more than 50 confirmed Covid-19 cases linked to the Games have been reported. The Tokyo Olympics kick off later this week as Japan grapples with a second wave of infections. Because when there’s billions of dollars in TV revenue on the line, the show must go on. (Additional Out) Without fans or the support of the Japanese people.

Tease: Coming up at _____, how many states are battling wildfires

80 wildfires are raging in 13 states, burning more than 1 million acres. In Oregon the Bootleg Fire has scorched about 300,000 acres. Across the globe western Europe is dealing with catastrophic flooding caused by unprecedented rainfall. I thought there were only seven signs of the apocalypse, that’s gotta be number 8 or 9. (Additional out) Apparently, Al Gore and Leo were on to something.

Tease: In _____ minutes, this NBA team is reportedly paying for houses for players’ side chicks

The Brooklyn Nets have reportedly paid for houses for star players’ side chicks. During an interview with Dan LeBatard Nets insider Matt Sullivan, said the team would pay to rent out houses for players’ side chicks and girlfriends violating league rules. Sullivan added, the team doesn’t care and wants to gain the reputation among players as a ‘modern franchise.’ How about you spend that money on trainers so KD doesn’t have to try and single-handedly win a playoff series. (Additional Out) I guess we have two different definitions of the word modern.
