Tease: Coming up in ___________ minutes, the latest thing rogue online investors are targeting

Rogue online investors have turned their sites on silver. The same people who drove up GameStop’s stock helped silver prices rise yesterday by 13%, an eight-year high. This happened after some online investors suggested dumping money into silver would hurt big banks. They’re calling it the silver-squeeze. Its either another coordinated attack on hedge funds or a plot by werewolves to make it more expensive to kill them. (Additional out) But the upside is, those fancy spoons I never use are now worth 13% more.

Tease: In ______ minutes, this candy company will pay you to taste test their sweets remotely

Candy Funhouse will pay someone $30 per hour to taste test and rate their sweets. The Canadian online candy store is seeking full and part-time remote workers to try out and honestly review their 3,000 candies and chocolates. All applications have to be in by February 15th and the link is on our website. They’re calling the position a “candyologist”. So basically, they want to pay us for doing what we all did during quarantine anyway, sit on the couch and eat candy. (Additional out) Sounds good but after the 2,900th candy they all probably taste the same.

Tease: Coming up at _____, Disney is going to Wakanda

Disney+ is working on a new TV series based in the Kingdom of Wakanda. The Walt Disney Company announced yesterday that they’ve partnered with Black Panther director Ryan Coogler on the new project. No more details were released. Which is Hollywood speak for ‘we’re gonna wing it and hope it works’. (Additional out) I’m in, I think we could all use a trip to Wakanda right now.

Tease: In _____ minutes, why all of our racket is killing the vibe for crickets

Human-made noise may confuse crickets trying to mate. According to a new study our constant noisemaking from traffic and other activities significantly effects the mating behavior of crickets. The reproduction of field crickets is important for our eco-system because they help manage weed growth and are essential food sources for birds and other animals. In other words, we all need to be quiet so the crickets can do it in the name of science. (Additional Out) What was your new study about Bob, something Covid-related? No, I’m trying to figure out why crickets aren’t boning more.
