Tease: Coming up in ___________ minutes, how soon the vaccine will be administered in the US

Within 96 hours of FDA approval US officials want the Covid-19 vaccines to start being administered. President-elect Joe Biden has pledged to make sure 100 million Americans are vaccinated within the first 100 days in office. The UK began vaccinating thousands of people yesterday including a resident from Warwickshire named William Shakespeare. Which might be the most British statement I’ve ever said. (Additional out) Which is odd because I wasn’t aware ‘writing long, boring monologues nobody understands’ was a pre-existing condition.

Tease: In ______ minutes, how much Apple’s new AirPods Max will set you back

Apple’s new Airpods Max cost $549. The release date for the long rumored over-the-ear headphones will be December 15th. At $549 the AirPods Max are more expensive than an entire iPhone SE and two hundred more than rivals like the Bose Noise-Cancelling Headphones or Beats Studio 3. That’s sounds expensive unless you’ve lost and replaced ten sets of AirPods. (Additional Out) And about $530 more than the crappy headphones I wear at my job every day.

Tease: Coming up at _____, the ‘cruise to nowhere’ failed

Singapore’s ‘cruise to nowhere’ lived up to its name. It had to turn back after a passenger tested positive for Covid-19. The cruise was part of a much-hyped program to reinvigorate domestic travel in Singapore amid the pandemic. On Monday A Royal Caribbean ship departed for the ‘cruise to nowhere’, but within days an unnamed 83-year-old passenger tested positive causing the ship to turnaround. Kind of sums up 2020 perfectly when we can’t even pull off a cruise to nowhere. (Additional out) Something my dad threatened to do on every family road trip but never followed through.

Tease: In _____ minutes, does your dog understand what you’re talking about?

Your dog really doesn’t understand what you’re talking about. That’s the conclusion of researchers who tested dogs to see if they can differentiate between known command words and nonsense words that sound similar. Researchers found that despite their ‘human-like’ auditory capabilities for interpreting speech, our canine pals cannot hear the subtle differences between words they way that humans do. Cats on the other hand do understand us, they just don’t care. (Additional Out) I can also testify through my personal experiments that they also don’t pick up on sarcasm.

Phone Topic/Web Poll: Olivia Jade Giannulli, daughter of Lori Loughlin, opened up for the first time about the college admissions scandal that landed her parents in prison. On Jada Pinkett Smith’s ‘Red Table Talk’ show the beauty influencer said I wanted to ‘publicly share my experience for the first time’ in a ‘place that feels really safe.’ What do you think, are her parent’s 100% to blame or does Olivia share some of the blame for the scandal?
