Tease: Coming up in ___________ minutes, this state goes after a data scientist

Florida continues its war on data. State police in Florida raided the home of former state Covid-19 data scientist Rebekah Jones. According to Jones, ten officers with guns drawn showed up at her Tallahassee home yesterday. The move escalated a feud between the state government and the data expert who has accused Florida officials of trying to cover up the extent of the pandemic within the state. That doesn’t make you look guilty at all. (Additional out) Sounds like a perfectly reasonable use of taxpayer dollars.

Tease: In ______ minutes, this 80s fad will make its Olympic debut in 2024

Breakdancing will make its Olympic debut at Paris in 2024. Breaking, or elite breakdancing, will be the first DanceSport event to appear at an Olympic Games. Paris 2024 will see 16 b-boys and 16 b-girls, the term used for competitive breakers, compete in one on one battles. I’ll watch provided all contestants are required to wear parachute pants. (Additional Out) Based on how I look playing Dance Dance Revolution, I’m going to assume I won’t make the cut.

Tease: Coming up at _____, this songwriter’s catalog just sold $300 million

Bob Dylan has sold his catalog of more than 600 songs to Universal Music for an estimated $300 million. That might be the biggest acquisition of one songwriter’s publishing rights ever. Dylan’s songs have been in multiple movies and other artists have recorded them more than 6,000 times. Plus, when other artists cover them you can understand more than forty percent of the words. (Additional out) A smart move by Dylan since people stopped paying for music years ago.

Tease: In _____ minutes, this high-profile director slams Warner Brothers big decision

Christopher Nolan isn’t happy about Warner Brothers recent decision that rocked Hollywood. The director of The Dark Knight, Inception and Tenet has been very critical of Warner Brothers plan to make all of their 2021 movies available on HBO max the same day they are released in theaters. A move he said makes ‘no economic sense’. In an interview with ET, Nolan added that ‘the people involved in these projects’ should have been ‘consulted about what was going to happen to their work.’ He also called HBOMax “the worst streaming service.” Apparently, he’s never heard of Quibi. (Additional Out) Adding, plus what’s with all the purple.

Phone Topic/Web Poll: Jack Stuef, a 32-year-old Michigan medical student, revealed that he found Forrest Fenn’s million-dollar treasure. His claim was verified by Fenn’s family. Jack spent two years searching for Fenn’s infamous treasure before finally finding it in the Wyoming wilderness in June. Because of a lawsuit from a woman claiming he found it by hacking her texts and emails, Stuef finally came forward despite his desire to remain anonymous. What do you think, would you remain anonymous if you discovered a million-dollar treasure? Personally, I’d tell everyone on the radio, then sign a book deal and play myself in a cheesy made for TV movie, but that’s just me.
