Its estimated there are 1,500 Americans still in Afghanistan as well as 250,000 Afghans who worked with the US, but its unclear how many want to leave. So far, the US has evacuated 82,000 from Kabul’s international airport and 10,000 are still waiting there. There’s less than 36 hours left to evacuate. Nationwide, 77% of ICU beds are full amid the Covid surge caused by the Delta variant with most taken by unvaccinated patients. Is this the third wave or the fourth? I’ve lost count.
