Tease: Coming up in ___________ minutes, yesterday was a good day for this

The stock market is scorching hot. The Nasdaq broke 15,000 for the first time ever yesterday thanks to continued strength in tech stocks. The S&P also hit a new record and the Dow rose more than 30 points and is hovering near historic numbers. My broker, who doesn’t exist, couldn’t be happier. (Additional Out) Unfortunately, I’m more of a money under my mattress kind of person.

Tease: In ______ minutes, Krispy Kreme doubles down on free doughnuts

Krispy Kreme is giving anyone with vaccination proof two free doughnuts every day between August 30th and September 5th. In March the chain began its promotion to encourage people to get vaccinated with a free doughnut a day for the rest of the year, but after full FDA approval they’ll double that for a week. So far, Krispy Kreme says its given away more than 2.5 million doughnuts through the deal. Looks like my post quarantine diet is gonna have to take a week off. (Additional Out) Because nothing says healthy like eating two doughnuts every morning.

Tease: Coming up at _____, Belgian researchers hope this animal could save civilization as we know it

Are Llamas going to save us? Medical researchers in Belgium working with nanoantibodies in llamas are hopeful they could neutralize covid and prevent infections. According to a report in the Post unusually small antibodies they’ve extracted from llamas ‘have neutralized the virus, including its variants, in laboratory testing.’ So maybe that llama that spit on me at the zoo was just trying to save me. (Additional Out) At least until the next report contradicts that.

Tease: In _____ minutes, this famous 90s album cover is getting the band sued

The naked baby on the front of Nirvana’s iconic Nevermind album is all grown up and suing the band. Spencer Elden claims his guardians didn’t give consent for the photo to be used on the 1991 album, calling it child pornography and saying he suffered life-long damages, despite recreating the image multiple times over the years and getting ‘Nevermind’ tattooed on his chest. He’s asking for $150,000 from each member of Nirvana. That includes Kurt Cobain, Dave Grohl and the tall guy that played bass. (Additional out) But the chest tattoo probably won’t help his cause.

Phone Topic/Web Poll A new survey found that in most US states the majority of drivers say they would stop to help a motorist stranded on a remote highway.  The survey says that location and safety were among the two biggest factors as to why people say they would not pull over to help. What about you, would you stop to help a stranded motorist, and if not, why?
