Tease: Coming up in ___________ minutes, if you missed the Oscars last night here’s what you missed

Nomadland won big at the Oscar’s last night taking home Best Picture, Best Actress and Best Director. 83-year-old Anthony Hopkins won Best Actor for his role in The Father, becoming the oldest Oscar winner ever. This year’s show didn’t have musical numbers, clip montages or jokes, one critic compared it to the closing night banquet at an exhausting convention. Kind of seems like they’re actively trying to get us to stop watching awards shows. (Additional out) That doesn’t have an open bar and you have to sit by that boring guy from HR.

Tease: In ______ minutes, good news for vaccinated Americans looking to travel

Fully vaccinated Americans will be able to visit the EU this summer. The EU halted all non-essential travel to the bloc more than a year ago. More good news, confirmed new cases in the US have fallen 18 percent since April 14th and on Friday the CDC lifted the pause on the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Hence why that guy your grandma has a crush on, Dr. Fauci, made the rounds on the talk shows. (Additional Out) So put those sweatpants back in the drawer because things are slowly returning to normal.

Tease: Coming up at _____, why hundreds of Josh’s met in Nebraska for a pool noodle battle

Hundreds of people named Josh from around the US fought over their shared name with pool noodles in a Nebraska cornfield. A man named Josh Swain started it as a battle with other Josh Swain’s for the right to that name, but later extended it to include all Josh’s and of course the internet ran with it. Swain set Lincoln, Nebraska as the place because of its central location. How did you spend your pandemic? Organizing a pool noodle battle with other Josh’s in Nebraska. (Additional out) Something tells me years from now scientists will point to this when talking about the ways covid shutdowns effected our brains.

Tease: In _____ minutes, the best time to catch the supermoon

Tonight at 11:32pm (EST) is the best time to see the Supermoon at its fullest according to NASA. April’s full moon is a ‘pink’ moon and a supermoon, meaning it appears bigger and brighter in the sky because its slightly closer to the Earth. Making tonight a perfect night for photographers and/or hungry werewolves. (Additional out) Like I do every supermoon, I will celebrate by walking outside for ten seconds, saying ‘cool’ and walking right back inside.

Phone Topic/Web Poll: A Texas woman was hit with felony charges for never returning a VHS tape she rented 21 years ago. Caron McBride rented Sabrina the Teenage Witch back in 2000 and failed to ever return it leading to felony embezzlement of rented property. That might just be the lamest felony charge ever. How about you, have you ever gotten in trouble with the authorities for something silly, and if so, what was it?
