Tease: Coming up in ___________ minutes, the odds of a police officer being convicted of murder

The odds of a killing by police leading to a murder conviction are about one in 2,000. Yet a jury in Minneapolis yesterday convicted Derek Chauvin of 2nd degree murder, as well as two other charges, for killing George Floyd last May. There have only been seven murder convictions of officers since 2005. A judge will sentence Chauvin in about eight weeks. So the system does work, provided there’s bystander footage, international outrage and wall to wall media coverage. (Additional out) No pressure judge, but literally the whole world is watching.

The dramatic collapse of the multibillion-dollar league comes less than 48 hours after it was announced, sparking backlash from virtually everyone. Hence why you should run dumb ideas by someone before announcing them publicly. (Additional Out) So basically now it’s the XFL of soccer.
