Tease: Coming up in ___________ minutes, a handful of Republicans join Democrats on the debt ceiling deal

Eleven Senate Republicans broke ranks to vote with all Democrats and overcome a filibuster so that the debt ceiling deal could move forward. The House will now have to approve the extension in a vote Tuesday before its sent to Biden for his signature. The deal reportedly increases the debt ceiling by $480 billion, which is how much the Treasury Department told Congress it would need to get to December 3rd. So we can get bipartisan deals done, provided they’re only for 57 days. (Additional Out) Hopefully somebody did their math right.

Tease: In ______ minutes, Tesla is moving its headquarters

Tesla will move its headquarters to Austin, Texas according to Elon Musk. The CEO made the announcement that the electric car company would make the move in a shareholders meeting yesterday. Currently Tesla is based in Palo Alto, California. Musk added there is a “limit to how big you can scale in the bay area.” This of course means we’ll get to see another eccentric billionaire try to pull off a cowboy hat. (Additional Out) Plus, now he’ll have more time to smoke pot with Joe Rogan.

Tease: Coming up at _____, good news for recent college grads

Hiring for recent college graduates has surged. A year after a jobs bust, college students are finding a boom. The New York Times reports that this year college seniors and recent graduates are in great demand as companies revive recruiting, underscoring the economic premium that comes with a diploma. Unless you work in broadcasting. (Additional out) So now mom and dad might finally get their basement back.

Tease: In _____ minutes, another company offering cheaper edge of space balloon trips

You’ll soon be able to take a balloon ride to space for just $50,000. Stratospheric ballooning company World View out of Arizona has just opened reservations to get in line for epic five-day balloon voyages that promise to take travelers 100,000 feet above some of the most magnificent landmarks on the planet. The company’s first commercial flights begin in early 2024. Another company in Florida, Space Perspective, also hopes to start balloon flights to the edge of space in 2024, but they’re charging $125,000 a seat instead of 50k. And as we all know, when you’re taking a balloon to space its always a good idea to go with the cheaper option. (Additional out) Step one raise fifty grand, step two get over my rational fear of going up 100,000 feet in a balloon.
