Tease: Coming up in ___________ minutes, the question both candidates dodged

Both candidates dodged a question about their 70-year-old bosses in last night’s one and only VP debate. Overall, the 90-minute faceoff between Vice President Mike Pence and Senator Kamala Harris was a return to normal that stayed on the rails, delivered more substance and less confrontation. Both proved to be polished and prepared debaters who stuck to the script. It’s never a good sign when the star of the debate is a fly. (Additional out) Which is what happens when two people do their best not to outshine their boss on TV.

Tease: In ______ minutes, this country is offering cruises to nowhere

Singapore is offering its travel-starved locals ‘cruises to nowhere.’ The country announced it will launch pleasure cruises that don’t actually visit any ports starting next month. The cruise ships will operate and 50% capacity, are for Singapore residents only and will start and stop at the same spot with no ports in between. I believe Gilligan took a similar cruise years ago. (Additional out) Or you can just stay in a hotel, basically it’s the same thing.

Tease: Coming up at _____, a racoon attacks a reporter

CNN correspondent Joe Johns had to fight off a racoon seconds before doing a live shot. The two have a history, the racoon attacked his pants leg last week just before a report. Yesterday, while reporting on the white house lawn the racoon returned, running through the CNN media tent despite a secret service agent with a flashlight trying to shoo it out and Johns throwing something at it right before they return to him for a live shot. Guess we know who that racoon is voting for. (Additional out) Unfortunately now the racoon will have to quarantine itself for 14 days.

Tease: In _____ minutes, this covid treatment used on Trump seeks FDA approval

Regeneron has requested FDA approval for their antibody treatment that was used on Trump to fight Covid-19 symptoms. The drug is still in clinical trials, but has been shown to be safe so far and Trump has touted it as a ‘cure.’ The biotech company has submitted an emergency use authorization to make the antibody cocktail available to the general public and expects to have 300,000 doses within the next few weeks. I’m up for trying anything that has the word cocktail in it. (Additional Out) I’ll take mine on the rocks.

Phone Topic/Web Poll: The Patriots have canceled practice again after a third player tested positive for Covid-19. Yesterday the NFL reported that there have been 11 confirmed positive tests among players so far and 15 new confirmed positives among other personnel. Oddsmakers say it’s unlikely that all NFL teams will play the full 16 regular season games this year. What do you think, will the NFL be able to finish the season?
