Tease: Coming up in ___________ minutes, was this a sign of Facebook’s decline?

Facebook and its apps, including Instagram and WhatsApp, were down for more than five hours yesterday. Ironically this happened a day after a Facebook whistleblower spoke out publicly for the first time on 60 Minutes. New York Times technology columnist, Kevin Roose argues that these are signs that Facebook is a company in decline. The more than five-hour downtime was the company’s worst outage since 2008. Tragically forcing office workers everywhere to actually work on a Monday. (Additional Out) I’m sure conspiracy theorists won’t read anything into that.

Tease: In ______ minutes, the Earth is dimming

Our planet isn’t as bright as it once was. Researchers who have been studying the cosmos for the last two decades recently discovered that the Earth has been dimming at a noticeable pace in the last few years. To determine this they measured the ‘earthshine’ which occurs when ‘the dark face of the moon catches Earth’s reflected glow and returns that light.’ I’ll put that on the list of things I would be worried about if I was smart enough to understand it. (Additional Out) Who knew the sun had a dimmer switch.

Tease: Coming up at _____, a weather delay in a domed stadium

The Raiders-Chargers Monday Night Football game was delayed due to a lightning storm despite being in the new domed multi-billion-dollar SoFi Stadium. Raiders coach John Gruden could be seen on the sideline just as confused as everyone watching at home as one of the refs tried to explain it to him. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell was on hand and the NFL made the call to delay the start because while the stadium has a roof, they determined that it’s open sides posed a risk. Sounds like 5 billion dollars well spent. (Additional out) Because as we all know lighting tends to strike from the side.

Tease: In _____ minutes, this show will likely become Netflix’s biggest show ever

South Korean survival thriller Squid Game is on track to become the biggest show ever on Netflix. The nine-episode series hasn’t even been out three weeks yet and it’s already number one in 90 countries. It’s so popular in fact, that Netflix is being sued for the massive increase in internet traffic by a Korean internet provider. The writer and director of Squid Game previously said he had no plans for a second season but appears to have changed his mind, now hinting that the story might continue. IE, someone sent him a big fat check. (Additional out) That’s how you know you’ve made it, when people start suing you.

Phone Topic/Web Poll: Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer apologized to the team and his family over a viral video that shows the married father of three getting grinded on by a woman at a bar. In Meyers apology he called the incident ‘Just stupid,’ adding I ‘Should not have myself in that kind of position.’ A second alternate angle shows him getting handsy with the woman at the bar. What do you think, is a lap dance cheating?
