Tease: Coming up in ___________ minutes, the main takeaways from last night’s competing town halls

Trump and Biden held competing town halls last night. Biden said elements of a decades old crime bill was a mistake, dodged questions about packing the court, and pledged to reverse Trump administration policies that discriminate against transgenders. Trump said he would accept a peaceful transfer of power, questioned the value of masks, and refused to denounce QAnon conspiracy theories. And sadly no fly stole the show at either event. (Additional out) Hopefully the events helped make up the minds of the four voters in this country that are still undecided.

Tease: In ______ minutes, a cool new google feature for searching tunes you can’t remember

You can now hum to search Google for songs you can’t remember. Yesterday Google unveiled a new search feature that lets users search for songs by humming a few bars in an attempt to help you identify music. The results will include several probable songs, along with the search engine’s estimation of how likely each one is. I’m sure it also records you so Google employees have something to laugh at during their next company party. (Additional out) Radio DJs have provided a similar service on our request lines for years, only we pretend not to know to egg you on and make it funnier for us.

Tease: Coming up at _____, this band had a creative idea for putting on large concerts during a pandemic

The Flaming Lips put on a live concert where everyone in attendance was in a literal bubble. The band’s recent show in Oklahoma City served as a test run for putting on large concerts during the ongoing pandemic. At the event each fan was housed inside a personal inflatable bubble. Which also adds another fun element to mosh pits. (Additional out) Which sounds like a great idea, unless you’re gassy.

Tease: In _____ minutes, YouTube cracks down on conspiracy theories

YouTube has essentially banned QAnon. Following Twitter and Facebook’s crackdown on the conspiracy theory site YouTube has purged much of their content as it pledges to take down videos that ‘encourage real world violence.’ The video sharing site has played a big role in moving QAnon from the fringes to the mainstream. Since the only thing more popular than cat videos on YouTube are conspiracy theory videos. (Additional Out) But don’t worry conspiracy theorists Reddit still has no moral compass.

Early numbers show roughly 6.3 million US households tuned into the Trump town hall and 6.9 million watched the Biden event. How about you, did you watch Trump’s town hall, Biden’s, flip back and forth or neither.
