Tease: Coming up in ___________ minutes, what you need to know about the IPhone 12

The new IPhone 12 will be 5G and have the fastest chip in any smartphone, but it won’t come with a charger or headphones. Apple announced four new iPhones at a virtual event yesterday, the iPhone 12, 12 Pro, 12 Pro Max and a new, smaller 12 mini. They are all 5G so they can connect to next gen high speed wireless networks, have enhanced camera systems, will come in five colors, and they’re thinner, smaller and lighter than previous iPhones. Plus, hopefully you can drop it more than six inches without the screen shattering. (Additional out) I can’t wait to stand in a long, socially distanced line to pay a grand for one.

Tease: In ______ minutes, I’ll tell you which states had the best pandemic response

According to health experts Vermont, Washington and Lousiana responded better to the pandemic than most other states. Vermont locked itself down early and reopened gradually, Washington paid workers who couldn’t do their jobs while quarantined and Louisiana prioritized students who were most at risk for falling behind. Meanwhile Florida’s ‘You’re on your own’ policy didn’t work as well. (Additional out) Meanwhile Texas was busy arguing with a hairdresser.

Tease: Coming up at _____, Kanye releases his first campaign ad

Kanye is apparently still pretending to run for President. The rapper released his first campaign ad this week, in it West spoke about building stronger families to build a stronger nation and urged voters to write him on the ballot. A message that would probably play better if his own family would endorse him. (Additional out) Along with his running mate, the fly that landed on Mike Pence’s head.

Tease: In _____ minutes, an 11-year-old goes full Grand Theft Auto with a stolen school bus

An 11-year-old Louisiana boy stole a school bus and flipped the bird to the cops during a 13-mile, 12 car police chase. According to police the boy somehow got access to the bus recently at Progress Head Start in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Then, he used the push button start to begin his joy ride that ended when he crashed into a tree unharmed. Probably not the best vehicle to start with, you can’t go big wheel, bicycle, bus. (Additional Out) Hopefully they also charge the kid who double-dog dared him.

Phone Topic/Web Poll: A runner in Utah started recording what he thought were bobcats and ended up being stalked for six minutes by the cubs mother, a large female mountain lion. Kyle Burgess backed away slowly, maintaining eye contact and yelling at the angry mountain lion for six minutes before throwing a rock at it to scare it away. Plus, the whole incident was caught on tape. Have you ever had an incredibly scary animal encounter? If so, what happened?
