Tease: Coming up in ___________ minutes, this starting NFL QB is likely out for the season

Dak Prescott is likely out for the season after a horrific injury. The Dallas Cowboys QB suffered a compound fracture and dislocation of his right ankle after he was tackled awkwardly in the 3rd quarter of their win over the Giants yesterday. Prescott underwent surgery to ‘wash out the wound and fix the fracture’ last night. His brother Tad shared a pic on social media of a smiling Dak in a hospital bed promising ‘He’ll be back STRONGER than ever.” We join players from across the league wishing Dak a speedy recovery. (Additional out) If you haven’t seen the injury yet you might want to avoid social media and the internet for a few hours because you can’t unwatch it.

Tease: In ______ minutes, what’s closed and what’s open today on Columbus Day or Indigenous Peoples Day

Today is a federal holiday celebrating Columbus Day and, in some states and cities, Indigenous Peoples Day.  Here’s what’s open today, most grocery stores, Target, Walmart, Starbucks, National Parks, Zoos, most restaurants and drug stores. Things that are closed include most banks, some museums and anything government operated, like the Post Office and DMV. All to celebrate a guy who discovered something people had already found hundreds of years before. (Additional out) So sadly my eight hour trip to the DMV will have to wait to ruin another day.

Tease: Coming up at _____, a pandemic apparently doesn’t stop people from reacting poorly to a championship

After the Lakers won their 17 NBA title rowdy fans hit the streets in droves to celebrate despite the mayors please for them to stay home. Things quickly turned ugly with some fans throwing rocks and bottles at police cars. As the celebration outside Staples Center dragged on LAPD had to send in mounted police and officers in riot gear to disperse the crowd with beanbag rounds and rubber bullets. I never understood why fans riot after a win instead of a loss. (Additional out) You would think that the game being played in a bubble would give people a hint about why they shouldn’t gather in a large crowd.

Tease: In _____ minutes, why a Texas teen has set two Guinness World Records

A tall Texas teenager has set the Guinness World Records for longest legs on a teenager and on a female. 17-year-old Maci Currin is 6 foot 10 and her legs are 53 inches long, meaning they make up 60% of her overall height. Congratulations on never being able to buy pants. (Additional Out) Which is cool, unless she’s sitting in front of you at a movie theater.

Phone Topic/Web Poll: According to a new study coronavirus can remain on paper currency for 28 days. Which would scare me if I could remember the last time I actually had paper currency on me. Even before covid I rarely carried money with me anymore. How about you, do you still regularly carry around cash?
