Tease: Coming up in ___________ minutes, tomorrow is officially a national holiday

President Biden signed a bill making Juneteenth a national holiday immediately. Juneteenth, officially tomorrow, celebrates the emancipation of African Americans on the 19th of June every year. Most federal employees have today off and other business may close or have limited hours today. Several other businesses simply plan to miss the mark on social media. (Additional Out) And making it a national holiday only took us 158 years.

Tease: In ______ minutes, bears have had enough

A bear in Japan went on a rampage injuring four people. The brown bear had to be shot dead in Northern Japan after it tore through a residential area. A local resident in the city of Sapporo, which is due to host the Olympic Marathon at this summer’s Tokyo games, first reported seeing the bear on a road. Apparently even the bears in Japan are pissed about the Olympics. (Additional Out) Remember, if a bear ever charges you the best thing to do is push your friend down and then make a new friend.

Tease: Coming up at _____, Victoria’s Secret goes a different route

Supermodels are out at Victoria’s Secret. After years of waning popularity the lingerie giant known for its hypersexy image, is undergoing a major rebrand. Instead of scantily clad supermodels they’ve hired the ‘VS Collective’, seven women who’ll advise and promote the brand including soccer star Megan Rapinoe. I’m pretty sure the supermodels weren’t the issue, it’s the significantly cheaper alternatives to get the exact same thing. (Additional Out) But don’t shed a tear for the supermodels, I’m sure they’ll be fine.

Tease: In _____ minutes, NASA needs our help naming something

A mannequin is going to space and NASA needs our help naming it. When NASA’s Orion spacecraft takes off for the uncrewed Artemis 1 moon mission in November, it’s commander’s seat will have a mannequin with sensors to record flight data. Currently they’re calling it the ‘moonikin’, but they’re open for suggestions. You have until June 28th to weigh in on eight options via Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Luckily, it always turns out well when you ask the internet to name something, right Mikey McMicrophone. (Additional out) But remember, when you name something you’re more emotionally impacted if it bursts into flames on reentry.
