Tease: Coming up in ___________ minutes, what health experts are saying about the new variant

The Delta Covid Variant is like ‘Covid on steroids’. That’s how former White House senior adviser for Covid-19 response described the variant first identified in India that’s now circulating in 80 countries. Currently the Delta variant accounts for roughly 10% of new cases here in the US and the CDC has labeled it a ‘variant of concern’ because its more transmissible and can cause more severe disease. Can we come up with another way to say somethings super serious than 'on steroids'? (Additional Out) We need scarier names for these variants so people will take them seriously.

Tease: In ______ minutes, how many record high temps could be broken this week in the US

About 300 high temperature records could be broken this week in the US. More than an eighth of the US population, over 40 million people, are on high alert for potentially deadly conditions. The heat and exceptional drought are fueling one of Arizona’s largest wildfires. Doctors also warn of pavement burns as record heat waves scorch several states. Hence why I do a dead sprint from the lounge chair to the pool. (Additional Out) General rule of thumb, if you can fry an egg on it, don’t walk barefoot on it.

Tease: Coming up at _____, Biden returns to the US for a legislative showdown

Biden returns home to a deadlocked legislature with little movement on an infrastructure or a voting rights bill. Moderate Democrat Joe Manchin said he supports several key pieces of a voting rights bill, including a ban on partisan gerrymandering. A bipartisan group trying to hash out an infrastructure deal met yesterday on Capitol Hill, but acknowledged afterward that there’s still a long way to go. Unfortunately, problems don’t solve themselves when you’re out of town. (Additional Out) Before Democrats give up and ultimately pass it on a party-line vote.

Tease: In _____ minutes, the internet reacts to Rihanna’s revealing new leggings

Rihanna’s lingerie line is offering crotchless, butt revealing leggings. The internet isn’t sure it wants them. Social media is having a field day with some calling them cheggings, a combo of leggings and chaps. The Soft Mesh Open-Back Crotchless Leggings are available at SavageX dot com for $49.95. Not sure if you know this Rihanna, but not all of us ate responsibly during the pandemic. (Additional out) Perfect for that person in your life looking to get kicked out of their gym.
