Tease: Coming up in ___________ minutes, it took just fifteen days to add this many cases

The US added 1 million known cases of Covid-19 in just 15 days as some states reported record breaking numbers. We’ve now surpassed 4 million total cases here in the US. Elsewhere Mexico added 700 new deaths and 8,400 cases in 24 hours, it currently has the world’s 4th largest death toll. Southern Brazil has tripled their cases in the past month. Plus, Australia has deployed military personnel to the virus-stricken state of Victoria to track down new infections that can’t be linked to previous clusters. Coming as a shock to everyone who didn’t realize Australia had a military. (Additional out) A practice called contact tracing that we’ll hopefully get around to at some point.

Tease: In ___ minutes, Washington picks a generic temp team name

The NFL team formerly known as the Redskins have punted on their name change. Washington announced yesterday that they’ll temporarily be known as the incredibly generic “Washington Football Team.” The helmet logo will be replaced by the players number, but the color scheme for the jerseys will stay the same. The move will act as a placeholder while the team tries to decide on a new name after dropping the name they’d used for 87 years. Guy sitting on domains 1, Washington 0. (Additional out). It sounds like a name you’d see in a video game or a movie where they were too cheap to by the naming rights.

Tease: Coming up at ____, where Gonzalo and Hannah will hit

Two major storm systems are about to make landfall, one in South Texas and the other on islands just north of Venezuela. Tropical Storm Hanna will likely make landfall in South Texas late Saturday night or early Sunday morning. Gonzalo is expected to become the first hurricane of the season by tonight as it passes over the Barbados, St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Although it’s early experts predict that we’ll have an active hurricane season this year. Apparently tropical storms are the one thing not delayed by a pandemic. (Additional Out) Hence why we’re already on H and it’s not even August.

Tease: Apparently there’s a downside to setting your ex’s car on fire. I’ll tell you more in _____ minutes

A crazy ex-girlfriend learned the hard way that setting your ex’s car on fire is incredibly dangerous. Her plan was flawed from the start, she did it in broad daylight, in full view of witnesses, surrounded by other cars that could also blow up and she got a little heavy-handed with the gasoline. The now viral video you can see on our website shows her plan literally blowing up in her face, however she did get up and run away. In other words, she lived to stalk another day. (Additional out) I’m guessing to go home and text him a couple thousand times “We can work this out, you’re my soulmate.”

Phone Topic/Web Poll: There’s a creepy clown motel in Nevada. It’s been featured on multiple travel shows over the years, boasts over a thousand clown artifacts and sits next to a graveyard. Plus, it’s supposedly haunted, has a “Friday the 13th room”, a “Halloween” room and an “Exorcist” room. How much would someone have to pay you to spend a night alone at the creepy, haunted clown motel?

5) The folks at Variety who have WAY too much time on their hands looked at which movies run the most on cable TV and Road House reigns supreme. The Patrick Swayze film graced the airwaves a shocking 83 times since last September, but it was followed closely by Jumanji, Ace Ventura and Gladiator. Finally proving my long-held theory that Road House is always on.
