Global Covid-19 cases have surpassed 18 million with more than 4.66 million cases in the US. Brazil and India have recorded more than 2.7 million and 1.75 million cases. The Australian state of Victoria declared a ‘state of disaster’ locking down millions in Melbourne to fight a soaring coronavirus outbreak. The UK announced they’ll roll out two separate Covid-19 tests that will be able to detect the virus in 60 to 90 minutes. How about you throw a few of those our way just for old times sake. (Additional out) Or roughly three John Oliver rants.

Tease: In ___ minutes, Isaias strengthens and heads toward the Carolinas

Isaias is forecast to strengthen to a hurricane again as it heads toward the Carolinas today. A hurricane warning has been issued for parts of South Carolina and North Carolina. The storm will bring hazards including storm surge, high surf, strong winds, heavy rain, flash flooding and a few tornadoes. It’s forecast to gradually weaken after making landfall and move along the east coast. Because apparently the only thing on tour nowadays are hurricanes. (Additional out) Because apparently even hurricanes know to avoid Florida right now.

Tease: Coming up at ____, who’s reportedly in line to replace Ellen Degeneres

James Corden is reportedly in line to replace Ellen Degeneres in her afternoon talk show slot. For months Ellen has faced allegations of bullying and creating a ‘toxic’ work environment. Now the Late Late Show host James Corden could replace her show amid rumors the talk show legend is set to quit. According to sources at NBC, James had already been viewed as ‘the long term successor’ to Ellen even before her troubles began. You might know Corden from that one bit where he drives around famous people while they sing. (Additional Out) But of course that won’t stop the internet from spewing hatred toward him for a few days before moving on.

Tease: SpaceX and NASA do something that hasn’t been done in 45 years. I’ll tell you more in _____ minutes

Astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley safely returned to Earth in the first water landing by an American space crew since 1975. The NASA and SpaceX joint mission marked the first astronaut trip to orbit by a private company. Riding in a capsule built and operated by Elon Musk’s SpaceX the two astronauts splashed down near Pensacola Florida yesterday afternoon. If it were me, I’d have probably stayed up there a couple more weeks. (Additional Out) Then like most men they immediately headed to the gift shop to make it look like they didn’t forget to bring something back for their family.
