The 29-year-old shot a final round 73 to finish 10 under par, one shot ahead of the American runner-up. Hideki is now the first Japanese player to don the famous green jacket. Roughly twenty five years after Happy Gilmore became the first hockey player to win golf’s coveted gold jacket. (Additional out) One of the highest honors in the sport we all fall asleep watching.

A Louisiana woman has been arrested after refusing to return $1.2 million mistakenly deposited in her account. Kelyn Spadoni, a 33 year old dispatcher was booked for theft, bank fraud and illegal transmission of monetary funds. Spadoni is accused of immediately moving the money to another account and using it to buy a new car and a house. Apparently ‘finders keepers’ isn’t a real law. (Additional out) When what she should’ve bought was a plane ticket to the Caymans.

A recipe for popcorn salad is being roasted on the internet after it was shared by the Food Network. Chef Molly Yeh has taken popcorn to the next level, or a new low, by adding the popular snack to vegetables and a dressing. The cookbook author calls it an ‘iconic midwestern dish’. I call it a crime against humanity. (Additional out) Which is code for ‘thing I made up because I forgot to go to the store today’.  

Phone Topic/Web Poll: Several hundred of the nation’s 13,000 school districts have established virtual schools this academic year, with an eye toward operating them for years to come. Unlike makeshift pandemic school programs, these stand-alone virtual schools have their own teachers who work only with remote students and use a curriculum designed specifically for online learning.
